From creative & active through to participation & awareness, a look back on the key developments & achievements in 2014
Participation
My biggest achievement in 2014 is being featured on a major music album cover around the world. I modelled on an album for the Legendary artist Diamond D. This was a photographed & designed a close friend and the director of the music challenge King of the Beats Pritt Kalsi. This became a winner of an international competition by Diamond D and beaten competition from loads of entries from round the world. The album its elf was completely sold out within the first few weeks of release on LP vinyl, CD and on downloads. The alum cover was featured on music websites & video sharing sites worldwide.
I was a photographer & modelling for a family of branded street clothing launched within 2014. This was for King of the Beats & Diggers clothing created by the director of king of the beats Pritt Kalsi.
Creative
I have developed webpage presentation design for the company Michael Miller Photography.
Two key key creative awareness projects including transferring one of my existing creative awareness project became a designer mug. A new creative awareness campaign called Sense of Value. (for details look under awareness)
As number of abstract visual art projects adjacent specific seasons, this was a spin of the presentation design under the in 2014 featured on promotional material and online. Including the Summer fever project and the Christmas transparent elements
A series of design & architecture photography including images at Bristol, the expansion of Media City UK in Salford and Eastside City Park at Millennium Point Birmingham
Community
Attended a number of community meetings in 2014 including Crime & Community tasking meeting (arranged by West Midlands Police), local ward meetings in South Birmingham (arranged of Birmingham City Council) and a National Disability hate crime meeting & seminar (arranged by Disability Rights UK) also the Redditch Community Forum in Worcestershire.
Awareness
One of my awareness projects linked with my Autism Challenge initiative as transferred onto a designer mug. This was created in connection with Bridge Mentoring as shown to staff, students and lecture for University of Birmingham on World Autism Awareness Day.
I expanded my Moving forwards awareness projects with a new series for creative campaign into poster format. Called Sense of value, highlight the issues of attitude and treatment with the positive and negative side effects.
Active
A number of outdoor festivals I have attended including Birmingham’s Chinese new year celebrations celebrating the year of the horse. Also attended the street art festival “City of Colours” and the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield. Places of interest photography was taken round (Birmingham & Bristol), also images was taken of outdoor scenery during the winter spring, summer & autumn. An outdoor event celebrating 100 years of the bus in Birmingham with a display of local buses past & present and future fleet planned for the city from 2015 onwards.
2014 was the biggest year of attending entertainment events then any previous year.
I started in Manchester with the Hacienda New Years Eve party featuring Todd Terry, the late Franke Knuckles, Grahame Park and 808 State. With attending this event I may be one of the last people to see Franke Knuckes live before he sadly died on April. Other Dj events including Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Norman Jay, Mr Thing, Daddy G (Massive Attack) vs Don Letts, Maxxi Soundsystem, Greg Wilson, Soul Buggin, Giles Peterson, Marshal Peterson, Maurice Fulton, Les Croasdale (Funkademia in Manchester). Also attended 8th Anniversary celebrations of Cream Birmingham with David Morales, Danny Rampling, Tall Paul, Brandon Block, Rue Jay and George Kafetzis and attended a number of event featuring the crews Leftfoot and Futureboogie in both Birmingham & Bristol also Horse Meat Disco crew in Birmingham. Another celebration event attended is the club night Sweat celeberting over a quater of a Century of event. The night feature the 2 times DMC mixing champion Sparra.
I also attended a number of local Dj events featuring local crews featuring Rudell, Ohme, Steffan Taylor, Rudell, Miguel Verde, James Spinx, Dwnload and a night of combining hip-hop music & videos featuring DJ E double D, DJ Maurice Croc & Miss C Brown.
I also attended live music events including Public Enemy with Support from DJ Chuck Chillout live in Sheffield as part of the Tramlines Festival. Also saw the legendary hip-hop crew the Jungle Brothers live in Birmingham. To celebrate the end of 2014 to ring in the new year into 2015 I will return to Manchester for the 9th consecutive year running & will attend the Hed Kandi 15th Anniversary event, featuring DJ’s Stu Ojelay, Sarah Louise, Martyn Russo, Adam Guy, Pete Mobey and many more.
